The Shadow Finds Sex and Love in the City

The Shadow had the opportunity to attend yet another art reception yesterday evening. Unfortunately, this was a closing reception so you will have to view this exhibit through The Shadow.

The Shadow's good friend and curator Sandi Ippolito invited him to view the exhibit "Sex and Love in the City" which is showing at the Califormia Modern Gallery through Saturday, May 27th. Sandi was not the curator for this show, but she does make an excellent martini!

"Sex and Love in the City" was a series of new and original paintings by artist Barbara Rose Brooker and photographs by photographer Susan Mall.

Lovers on Bench by photographer Susan Mall

Susan Mall's photos are about lovers, sexuality, and the human condition. In her own words:

This exhibit is about love and loneliness, friendship and longong. Why do we choose the people we choose? What goes in to relationships that make them work? What is it that makes us attractive to one another? As long as I can remember, I've always been interested in relationships. The moments I have caught on film reflect some of the feelings and issues I see in relationships -- being young and in love, being old and in love, looking for love, and what we do to make ourselves look more appealing in pursuit of love . . ."

Natasha by artist Barbara Rose Brooker

Barbara Rose Brokker views love through a variety of venues as her alter-ego "Natasha". Her paintings are stunning to view and fit the theme of this show well.

This is a new venue for The Shadow to view art. The venue was the California Modern Art Gallery, located at 1035 Market Street, in downtown San Francisco. Co-owned by Inga Fischer and Risley Sams, it is a wonderful spacious venue for an art exhibit.

Sandi recently joined the Gallery as a curator. She will be doing her first show very shortly and you can count on this blog to bring it to you when it opens.

It figures that the only way that "The Shadow" can find sex and love (at the same time) in the city is to go to an art gallery!

Hey! This is really me, the Mayor of San Francisco. And I say if the Shadow can find sex and love in the City, then that is fabulous. I just want some tips on how to meet hot chicks at art openings. Can ya hook me up, Shadow?

Hey Dr. Freud, that multiple personality stuff is just a load of crap! I bet you're not even a real doctor, probably just some stupid jealous dude wishing you was a babe magnet like the Shadow.

Hmmm, Very interesting.
So if the shadow is such a babe magnet, why does he pay to watch others...

Hey you phony doc, I bet you're sitting at home readin' back issues of Psych Today and telling everyone what a brilliant shrink you are. Meanwhile, the Shadow and the Gavin are cruising this town and successfully meeting many swinging American foxes!

It doesn't take a college degree to know when someone's a professional bullshit artist, like the shadow.
Besides Gavin, shouldn't you be keeping our city safe from perverts like him?
