Help A San Francisco Family Find Chemo
It has been The Shadow's mission to weed out evil in all forms. There have been crimes that have been committed that are very sad.
And then there are crimes that are just simply unpardonable.
Last Saturday, while parked at UCSF Children's Hospital, a 15-week old puppy was stolen from an automobile that was parked there. This would ordinarily not be an issue for The Shadow except for one small detail -- The puppy was therapy for a boy with cancer.
The puppy, whose name is Chemo, was stolen from the automobile while the puppy's young friend -- whom The Shadow will not name although it has been reported in the news -- was undergoing chemotherapy. The boy, who is 8 years old, has now been told about the disappearance of the puppy.

This is a crime that makes no sense and should be solved. San Francisco police have stated that if Chemo is returned unharmed, no questions will be asked. UCSF police are also offering a $200 reward for the safe return of Chemo.
Anyone with information about Chemo should call the UCSF Police Department at (415) 760-5867; the puppy will also be accepted at San Francisco Animal Care and Control at 1200 15th St. in San Francisco.
Let's bring this to a successful conclusion and reunite puppy and boy.

I find it incredibly amusing that someone as "dark & heartless" as The Shadow would actually care about either species; canine or children!
There are a lot more injustices facing the children of today (in this city) than having a stupid dog stolen!
Besides you know the kids gonna have a kennel full now!
How about children who go to sleep to the sound of gunshots every night or the ones who wake up to no breakfast nor anyone to see them off to school!
There are cruel acts performed against perfectly healthy children every single day!
Why don't you care about them????
The Shadow agrees that there are other injustices facing children in San Francisco (and everywhere for that matter). But the whole point of this was to right this injustice to a sick child.
And by the way, 24 hours after The Shadow posted this entry, the puppy was found and reunited with his owner.
Yes, The Shadow is "dark and heartless", but The Shadow is here to expose evil and to rid the world of it.
Hey, the Shadow does care! He helped out on the Jill Caroll thing and now she is back. He helped on the Chemo dognapping and now Chemo is back. So don't say the Shadow doesn't care, cause he does!
