The Shadow Gets Clothes Minded on Halloween
It is Halloween night in San Francisco and the biggest news in the city at the time was whether or not there would be trouble in the Castro District of the city by a Halloween party that was not supposed to take place. But in any event, before those festivities, ARTWorkSF held a special reception at the Hotel Triton in downtown San Francisco to unveil their new exhibit, "Clothes Minded".
Featured artists at this exhibit are:
- D'arci Bruno
- Irene Hendrick
- Bea Johnson
- Lisa Levine
- Caren Lorber
- Danyol
- Alex von Bromssen
- Jane Grimm
This was a fitting exhibit for this time of year. To accent Chief Curator Matt McKinley's description of this exhibit:
The way one chooses to dress is a conscious choice that summarizes the perception of self that is exposed publicly in order to influence other's perceptions..."many staff members from ARTWorkSF came in costume that night.
This exhibit will be shown at the Hotel Triton Mezzanine Gallery, 342 Grant Street (at Bush) in San Francisco. You can view the exhibit 24/7 through November 28, 2007. As always, all works shown at this reception are available for sale or rental -- contact ARTWorkSF for more details.
