For Extra Credit, Write Me A Report On The Arson....

In Houston, Texas, a teacher has been accused of talking 2 of her students into torching her car for the insurance money. Apparently, she was behind on bills and figured this would be a way to catch up. What did the students get out of the deal?

They were passed. The teacher took two students who were failing and offered to give them passing grades if they torched her car. And the students did just that.

The Shadow is happy to tell you that the teacher has surrendered to police and is free on $15,000 bond. The two students are still in custody.

Hopefully these students will learn from their mistake and come from the dark side into the light.

Victoria's Secret is Now Out!!

The Shadow is a man of darkness. I have seen the evil that lurks in the hearts of men. And I have been able, in some cases, to take that evil out of them.

But at a Victoria's Secret store in Illinois, someone with a very dark nature has come up with the ultimate evil fantasy.

To Smoke or Not to Smoke??

The Shadow is definitely aware of all of the arguments against smoking. There have been several smoking bans that have come to pass within the last few years, which have infringed upon the rights of those who wish to smoke. However, in the city of San Francisco, a very extensive ban will take place on Friday, July 1, 2005. However, there may be problems in enforcing it.

Enjoying the Small Batches

As was mentioned earlier, The Shadow has a penchant for the finer things in life -- good cigars, good women, and good booze. This is why I succumbed to the darkness -- to be able to enjoy these items.

Yesterday evening, The Shadow was among a group of bourbon enthusiasts in a downtown San Francisco hotel enjoying the tastes from the Knob Creek distillery.

The tasting consisted of the four small batch bourbons from Knob Creek: Basil Hayden, Knob Creek, Bakers, and Bookers.

The feature of the evening was a short talk by Frederick Booker Noe, a descendant of legnedary distiller Jim Beam


A good time was had by all. As a final souvenir, I received an empty Booker bourbon bottle that was signed by Mr. Noe himself!

A Good Move for Chicago Police

It is really sad when a man has to solicit a prostitute. The Shadow has never been a fan of this profession. Yet I see them as I travel the darkness -- many times unnoticed by the hookers and their johns. They bring down property values and makes a neighborhood unsafe.

The Shadow salutes the Chicago Police Department for doing something about this. Earlier this week, a web site was brought online showing men and women who were arrested for either soliciting or promoting prostitution. The intent is to humiliate them before family, friends, employers, etc.

If you are in Chicago and wish to deal with this practice -- watch out! There is no plea bargaining on this one -- you will be listed.

Take a look at the web site and see these losers! The site might be a little slow because it is generating interest throughout the country. But well worth it!

Why Embrace the Darkness?

As you read this you may ask yourself: Why do you embrace something that no one else would touch.

The darkness is who I am. During the day, I must submit to my alter ego to look normal. Once the 5:00 p.m. bell rings, the darkness embraces me once again. I have the ability to hide amongst the shadows. You will see me one minute and not see me the next.

The fact that I am black helps. But for 35 years, I have had to live this life. I tried to run from it. But I finally accepted my destiny.

Every man has a destiny. Mine is enshrouded in darkness.
