A Sad Day for the City of Chicago

The Shadow has just learned that the world famous Berghoff Restaurant in Chicago will be closing its doors on February 28, 2006. This restaurant has been an institution in Chicago for well over a century.

The Shadow can remember, as a former Chicago resident, the great food, fantastic beer, great friends who have passed through this door.

The Berghoff now joins the ranks of another Chicago institution, Marshall Fields, that will close its doors (Fields was bought out by Macys and will reopen under that name).

The Shadow wishes to publically say that he has enjoyed his time at the Berghoff. We will try to get there before the closing. If not -- it has been a good run!
